Notes

Other Common Names
Peacock Awl, Blue-flash Skipper

I saw this butterfly once, in a small patch of rainforest on the way to the old Claudie Airstrip. It was a few metres away, and in the shade, and I didn't think to adjust the settings on my camera, so the shot I got was taken at F11 and isn't much good. I did adjust to F5.6 for the next shot, and it came out much better except that the butterfly was just taking off and you can only see the tips of its wings in that photo. However, I'm not complaining, as I did not really expect to get any photos of this species, so even a bad shot was a very nice surprise.
