I saw quite a few of these darters in the grassy open forest areas below the rainforest near Cairns. Well, I think a lot of them were this species. There are so many similar species of skippers and darters that I find it really hard to tell what I'm looking at in the field. I generally have to take photos and then identify them later using books; and even then I often can't be sure which species I'm dealing with......
