I spent a LOT of time trudging around mangrove swamps around Darwin looking for this butterfly, without getting so much as a glimpse of one. Finally, in the mangroves near the Leanyer sewage pools I saw maybe 6 over a period of about 7 hours. Fortunately one of them actually landed, only a couple of feet off the ground, and stayed settled long enough for me to get a couple of photos.
