Notes

I admit it, I'm not 100% sure of this identification. I saw this butterfly flying low and slow around the Ingleburn Reserve. I initially thought it was E. smilax, but it occurred to me that it looked a bit larger and the black markings on the upperside looked to be more extensive (though I couldn't be certain as it never settled with its wings open).
From looking at the photos, and reading Braby's Butterflies of Australia, I eventually concluded that this was probably E. brigitta - mainly because Braby mentions the obscure grey markings on the underside of the hind wings, which definitely appear to be prsent in this butterfly.
