I saw a few of these butterflies on my first trip to Cairns in October 2005, in the Cairns Central Swamp, but they never landed in spots where I could get close enough to take any photos. They tend to land often, but not for very long, which is quite frustrating when you're trying to take pictures. On my second trip to Cairns I only saw one specimen, again in the swamp, but this time I was lucky enough to get a couple of pics.
