Other Common Names Black and White Swift I saw several of these butterflies in Cairns. They turned up almost anywhere, from the Botanical Gardens to the middle of the rainforest. I only ever saw one at a time, except for once when I saw four or five of them catching the late afternoon sun on the side of a bush in the Botanic Gardens. This is quite an attractive little butterfly, but I do think the white antennae look a little bit silly :-) Unfortunately, every single time I've tried to get of shot of this species with my DSLR, the butterfly has jumped when the flash went off.
