I'd been expecting to find this species about 10 years before I finally did. After many fruitless searches, I finally saw one specimen at the side of the carpark at James Earl Lookout, on the way from Cairns to Cooktown. Fortunately the butterfly was quite well-behaved, and was happy to pose for photos.
