Catopsilia gorgophone (Yellow Migrant)

Other Common names

Yellow Emigrant

Notes

I saw this butterfly close to the top of the Terrace Garden at the Mount Annan Botanic Garden in Sydney’s outer south-west.
Fortunately, it settled on a small bottlebrush, allowing me to get some photos; admittedly not great ones as it was burrowed so far into the flower. It did disturb a couple of times, but circled around and returned to the same flower.
Apparently this species has only been recorded from Sydney a handful of times, so it was a bit of a treat for me to see it here.
