Tellervo zoilus (Hamadryad)

Other Common Names

Cairns Hamadryad, Cape York Hamadryad

Notes

I see these butterflies occasionally in the Cairns rainforest; not a lot of them but there often seems to be one or two around. They flutter slowly in the forest, usually close to a track or sun spot, and regularly land on the underside of a leaf.

The larva was in Garry Sankowsky’s personal rainforest – an amazing garden!
