Eurema alitha (Scalloped Grass-yellow)

Notes

This butterfly is so similar to the Large Grass-yellow (E. hecabe) the photographers such as me have little chance of getting shots. Firstly it’s less widespread than hecabe, and of course it also prefers to avoid posing for photos. Even if it does, the butterfly will keep its wings closed, so unless the light is from an angle that lets the markings on the uppewrside show through the chances of making an identification are slim.
