Philiris nitens (Blue Moonbeam)

Notes

Having only seen this species on a very few occasions I felt fortunate in April 2021 when a female sat quite nicely for me in between laying an egg or two on her foodplant. She also deigned to open her wings for me, something I’d never seen any Moonbeam do before.  Unfortunately the light was not good as she was in quite deep shade, but it was still a great experience for me to see her.
