Euploea eichhorni (Eichhorn’s Crow)

Synonyms

Euploea alcathoe eichhorni

Notes

I first saw this butterfly flying in the paperbark area of the Cairns Central Swamp. I thought it was E. core, but when it landed I took a couple of photos just in case it was a different species. Fortunately, this turned out to be the case 🙂

On my second Cairns trip I saw these butterflies half a dozen times. I couldn’t get any pics of them with their wings open, which was a shame as the upperside is quite a lot more attractive than the underside.
