Mynes geoffroyi (Jezebel Nymph)

Other Common names

White Nymph

Notes

Sightings of this species have been few and far between, for me at least. There were a few of them along the sides of the path at Babinda, near Cairns in August 2007.  Unfortunately they always settled fairly high up, and I didn’t get many chances to take photos. This has been a recurring pattern, though at the end of December 2013 I had the good luck to encounter a freshly-emerged female sitting around waist height on a small shrub in the Burleigh Heads National Park. It was right in the rainforest and therefore the light was not at all good, which the photos show, but she was a lovely butterfly.

The shots of larvae from November 2008 were taken in Don Sands’ garden 🙂
